I grew up wandering in the woods of my parent’s holler (or “hollow”, as some people say it) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. But I wasn’t formally introduced to hiking until I met my husband in college. My love of hiking became an obsession as I was introduced to mountains, long trails, gear, and all the beauty that you can see only on foot. This is when I picked up a DSLR camera for the first time and tried to capture what it was I was seeing outside.
I introduced my husband to international travel and it’s our “thing” now. We live frugally in order to afford our trips.
Professionally, I am a classical pianist. And that brings me great joy. I am a multi-faceted human being with many passions; I believe most humans are. Life is a journey with many discoveries to be made and just when we think we have it all figured out, there’s a surprise around the corner. As my mom regularly reminds me: everything happens for a reason.
